Leadership
Sustainable Whidbey Coalition is driven by:
- Nine-member Steering Committee of four elected officials and four representatives from private organizations or local business
- Part-time Coordinator
- Participation from member organizations
Steering Committee
The Steering Committee provides leadership and direction for the Sustainable Whidbey Coalition.
The Steering Committee includes:
- Four members appointed one each by the Town of Coupeville, the City of Langley, City of Oak Harbor and Island County Government;
- One public transportation representative;
- One utilities representative;
- Up to four at-large members representing private or public entities serving Whidbey Island dealing with issues such as:
- Public services (e.g. health and human services);
- Issues of sustainability (e.g. energy, food, water, economy, etc.);
- Education and learning.

Coordinator
The Coordinator works collaboratively with the Steering Committee to provide leadership to the Sustainable Whidbey Coalition. The Coordinator also designs and facilitates the monthly membership meetings and initiates outreach and education.
